Despite the homegrown competition in China, Apple’s new iPhone 15 series managed to outpace the iPhone 14 family from last year. According to one of the country’s biggest online retailers, JD.com, which has partnered with more than 4,000 Apple resellers, the first two hours of the launch saw a 253% uptick compared to last year.
This signals a huge interest in the new iPhones and to everyone’s surprise, orders from customers in lower-tier cities jumped six times. Despite the higher price tag, iPhone adoption seems to be spreading outside of major Chinese cities.
