SAPPHIRE is in the books now, and we did not stop to deliver great ? new features in SAP Datasphere. Feel free to watch SAPPHIRE session replays on-demand on the virtual event platform.
There are also lots of excellent new blogs in the community, a new bite sized video series about the data marketplace, and new Customer Engagement Initiative for SAP Datasphere where you can participate.
My top features in June
Column level lineage
The impact and lineage analysis is now enabled to get one level deeper and allows you to select one or more columns in your analyzed object and show their sources and the columns that they impact. More information.
Many improvements in the data integration area
There are multiple improvements in the data integration and monitoring area.
Transformation Flows
You can now add a view as well as open SQL schema objects as a source in a transformation flow. More information.
Task Chains
You can now include Open SQL procedures within task chains (more information). As a prerequisite an administrator must grant EXECUTE privileges for objects in the Open SQL schema space. More information.
Replication Flows
You can now add objects to a replication flow in status Active without having to stop the run first. More information. Moreover, you can now specify a thread count greater than 1 in replication flows for delta load and thus enable parallel processing. More information.
Monitoring
Multiple improvements also in the data integration monitoring, where you can now also see local tables which have been created in a space and check the metrics related to these tables. More information.
The status text descriptions in the replication flow monitoring was rephrased so that they are more self-explanatory. They now differentiate more clearly between the situation at flow level and at object level. More information.
And last but not least the details screen in the Views monitor now indicates if your view data is protected by a data access control. More information.
Data Marketplace Video Series
There is an excellent video series ? created by my colleague @FlorianN describing and showing all facets of the SAP Datasphere data marketplace ? in a few minutes. Use them to learn more about the data marketplace in general and the different components it consists of.
