This demonstration is a brief introduction to the AMD Kria™ K24 System-on-Module and KD240 Drives Starter Kit. We’ll talk about how to get started with the Drives Starter Kit, including flashing a prebuilt Ubuntu image onto a microSD card, making the necessary connections to the starter kit, and then booting Ubuntu on the starter kit.
The AMD Kria™ K24 SOM is the newest addition to the AMD Kria portfolio of products. It is a compact, smaller form factor product that offers a faster path to volume production deployment compared to a chip-down approach. It also offers whole application acceleration at the edge and is optimized for power-efficient motor control and DSP applications.
The AMD Kria™ KD240 Drives Starter Kit is comprised of a non-production version of the K24 SOM, carrier card, and thermal solution. This Kria KD240 Drives Starter Kit is an evaluation platform for the K24 SOM focused on motor control and power conversion applications.
The KD240 and its base K24 SOM are supported for full user customization through the AMD Vitis platforms, customizable acceleration overlays, and AMD Vivado tools hardware board files.
The integrated combination of hardware, platform, and software provides a quick out-of-box experience for developers that can then be leveraged for product designs.
