SAP Developer Challenge – ABAP Core Data Services

Estimated read time 5 min read

Welcome to the Developer Challenge for the month of August. This month we are going to focus on ABAP. We thought it would be good to prioritize a simple and popular topic among ABAP developers.

Yes you guessed it right! – ABAP Core Data Services.

ABAP Core Data Services (CDS ) is an extension of the ABAP Dictionary that allows you to define semantically rich data models in the database and to use these data models in your ABAP programs. CDS is a central part of enabling code push-down in ABAP applications. CDS simplifies and harmonizes the way you define and consume your data models, regardless of the consumption technology.

You can find more information about ABAP CDS in this video and also in this help document : https://help.sap.com/docs/SAP_NETWEAVER_AS_ABAP_751_IP/f2e545608079437ab165c105649b89db/4ed1f2e06e391014adc9fffe4e204223.html?version=7.51.3&locale=en-US
