SAP Datasphere News in August

Estimated read time 10 min read

Vacation period ️ comes to an end, and we delivered a strong release in August. There are also lots of excellent new blogs in the community and top features on YouTube for below.

My top features in August

Compatibility Contracts

To encourage confidence in the stability of your views and to guarantee backward compatibility when they are updated, you can now set their Release State to Released. Once a view is released, it must continue to provide the same output columns until it is replaced by a successor, at which point it can be deprecated and, eventually, decommissioned.
The release states are an optional feature. By default, all views are set to Not Released and there is no obligation to release any view.
More information.

Workload Management

You can now set space priorities and statement limits for all the spaces in the new Workload Management page under System and Configuration. In the space details pages, you can view the values set for the space priority and statement limits, but you can no longer edit them there.
Similarly, on the CLI we have deprecated some parameters for the space definition, and they will be removed in future releases. At the same time new ones are introduced and recommended to be used going forward.
More information.

Change Space Upon Import

When working with content packages previously, you were restricted to import them into spaces with the same technical name as the spaces listed in the package. Now you can choose which spaces to import into by selecting a Space Mapping for each space listed in your package, as long as any shared objects can be resolved in the same package.

This helps you to

import content on the same tenant into different spaces import a package more than once in the same tenant thus creating copies in different spacessupport for intra-tenant transport i.e., space to space transport using the Content Network

More information.
