SAP Datasphere News in September

Estimated read time 10 min read

Another great month comes to an end, and we delivered great new features with our two September releases. There are also lots of excellent new blogs in the community and top features on YouTube below.

My top features in September

Cloud object stores as sources in replication flows (HDLFS, AWS S3, GCS, ADLS2)

We already offered cloud storage providers as targets in replication flows and with release 2024.19 you can now use the following cloud storage providers and the corresponding connection types to add sources to replication flows:

Data lake Files from SAP HANA Cloud, data lakeAmazon Simple Storage ServiceGoogle Cloud StorageMicrosoft Azure Data Lake Gen2

More information.

Remove persisted data in task chains

When creating a task chain, the task chain editor now lets you choose to remove the replicated or persisted data for remote tables and views.
More information.

Scheduling mass deletion of filtered records from local tables

From the Local Tables monitor, you can clean up your table records on-demand. You can delete all records contained in the table, delete records using filter conditions also using schedules, or delete records marked as deleted in your local table where delta capture is enabled.
More information.

Analytic Model: define order of variables

You can now change the order of variables in the editor of an analytic model using drag & drop. This order will be taken into account in the data preview and in the prompt in SAP Analytics Cloud.

Changing space language for metadata translation

Earlier in the year we introduced the translation dashboard to support metadata translation. You can now change the source language of a Space which is enabled for translation for example from German to English, and the German translations are kept after the change. Be aware, that if you reset the translation setting to “not selected” all translations will be removed.
More information.
