In this blog post, we’ll dive into the latest updates and features in SAP Automation Pilot, designed to further enhance your automation capabilities and streamline operational workflows. Discover how these improvements can help you optimize and streamline your tasks for greater efficiency.

Content Generation AssistantGlobalAvailability

We’re happy to announce that our Generative AI (GenAI) capability in SAP Automation Pilot reached General Availability globally on September 20th! With the Content Generation Assistant, users can now leverage AI to generate commands and workflows using natural language prompts, simplifying the automation process and minimizing manual effort.

Scheduled Executions Generation

With the latest updates, the Content Generation Assistant now supports generation of scheduled executions in SAP Automation Pilot with just a single prompt. The assistant automatically creates executions set to run at specific times, simplifying workflows and reducing manual tasks. This feature enhances flexibility and control, making operations more streamlined and easier to manage.

Remote Work ProcessorStandalone Mode

The Remote Work Processor in SAP Automation Pilot can now operate in standalone mode. This lightweight agent allows users to securely make network requests in restricted environments, like private networks or on-premise systems with limited internet access. By delegating network requests to the agent, Automation Pilot can access internal resources, enabling automation in isolated or fenced-off systems. This enhancement significantly improves the tool’s flexibility, making it easier to manage and automate tasks in hybrid and complex network setups.

UI Enhancements: Improved Dialogs and Expression Suggestions

The revamped Input and Output dialogs in our UI now feature a more organized structure, making it much easier to handle large JSON arrays or objects. Enhanced formatting options improve the readability of complex data, and users can hide specific fields for a more cleaner view.

In addition to the updated Input and Output dialogs, we’ve also enhanced the Key Management Dialogs with a simplified, dynamic view. Depending on the type of data you’re working with, the dialog expands to display relevant fields, making it more flexible and user-friendly.

We’re also excited to announce that the Expression suggestions are now supported across all smart view text areas, further streamlining the user experience.

Content Connectors

With Content Connectors in SAP Automation Pilot, users can now back up their content directly to GitHub, either manually or on a scheduled six-hour basis. You can configure backups by selecting specific catalogues and applying tags to filter what gets backed up. Additionally, backups can be saved as individual files for each command and input or consolidated into a single file. The intuitive interface simplifies the process, making it easy to organize and safeguard your automation content efficiently.

New SAP Alert Notification service Events for Commands and Inputs

SAP Automation Pilot can now produce events for key actions on commands and inputs including:

Command Created, Updated, Deleted: Notifications for any creation, modification, or deletion of commands.Input Created, Updated, Deleted: Real-time alerts when inputs are added, changed, or removed.

These new event notifications provide instant visibility into important updates, helping teams maintain greater control and transparency in shared environments. Whether it’s for improved collaboration or operational oversight, these alerts make monitoring changes more seamless and efficient.

New command in AI Core Catalog: GenerateGpt4OmniCompletion

Introducing a new command in the AI Core Catalog: GenerateGpt4OmniCompletion in SAP Automation Pilot. This command allows you to generate completions using GPT-4o for the SAP AI Core’s generative AI hub.

Additionally, both the GenerateGpt4OmniCompletion and GenerateGpt35TurboCompletion commands now support response formatting, offering a cleaner and more structured view of the data, enhancing readability and usability.

New Example Scenario: Advanced Availability Check

The Advanced Availability Check monitors service availability and reports results to Dynatrace for SLA tracking and data visualization. In this example, the HTTP Bin service is used for testing, but it can be adapted for various services based on customer needs. Availability checks can also be scheduled at regular intervals using Automation Pilot’s Scheduled Executions feature. This provides a robust mechanism for continuous service monitoring, improving operational efficiency and reliability.

Check out the example in our Github repo with samples and try it.
