“How do we translate process diagrams as quickly and easily as possible?”
This could be a typical request that is either posted here in the SAP Signavio Community or reaches our Customer Success Team by email.
I myself received the following request from a customer in the mailbox:
“It is possible to store multiple languages in the diagrams. We currently have a large process landscape that we need to translate completely from German to English.
Is there a way to export all texts in a standardized format (e.g. csv or xliff or similar) so that they can be translated more easily? Or does this actually have to be done via the normal editor?”
Translation within the SAP Signavio Process Modeler
You can model your diagrams in several languages if you have previously defined the desired language in the Explorer.
You can select the target language within a process diagram. In my example, the original diagram is in English and I would like to translate it into German:
Now click on the individual texts and enter the translation.
Detailed documentation on direct translation within individual process diagrams can be found in the Help Portal:
Translating content with PO files
You can export created content from your workspace, translate it and import the translated files.
Download a file, translate the content and then import it back into the workspace.
This is useful if you want to translate dozens of diagrams at once. Please take a look at the detailed documentation in the Help Portal:
