​ Generative AI has the potential to improve business processes across a wide range of industries. While SAP ERP products such as S/4HANA are designed to run business processes seamlessly in an automated manner, enterprises can have bottlenecks when business users have to work with unstructured data across distributed systems.
Imagine functionalities such as enterprise search and creating orders in SAP – when search needs to take into account semantic meaning of the search term or when users get an email or a chat request for placing an order, the entire process can be time consuming and error prone.
This is where Google Cloud AI models can help perform these business functions seamlessly. Google Cloud offers a wide range of AI models including the flagship Gemini family of models, which can provide key GenAI functionalities such as embeddings generation, RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) and multi-modal inputs and responses. These functionalities can be utilized by SAP customers via various SDKs and toolsets, including SAP BTP AI Core and SAP BTP ABAP environment.
In this demo, we will showcase how to build an enterprise application for a sample use case of enterprise search using Google Gemini.
