Update on Reference Solution Architecture for SAP Master Data Governance
We are excited to announce the release of the new version of the Reference Solution Architecture for Master Data Governance (MDG), which has recently been published on Business Accelerator Hub and on the SAP Signavio Process Navigator – SAP for Me.
This updated version includes new solution variants for SAP Master Data Governance on SAP S/4HANA 2023 FPS02 in classic mode and in cloud-ready mode. One of the key highlights of this release is the inclusion of detailed diagrams for business partner, product, and financial domain for master data governance in classic mode. These diagrams provide a comprehensive overview of the solution architecture, making it easier for users to understand how MDG fits into their existing IT landscape and how it can be integrated with other systems and applications.
Updates in Detail
1. Solution Variant “Federated Master Data Governance with Core Data Owner on SAP S/4HANA”
We added the information that Federated Master Data Governance can also be used with MDG on lower releases/classic-mode. More information can be found in the how-to guide and in the blog “Consumption of Federated Governance Made Easy” from @Mark63.
In the next two solution variants, we have replaced the existing one for “Centrally Managed Master Data Governance on SAP S/4HANA” with two new solution variants to illustrate the supported processes:
2. Solution Variant “Centrally Managed Master Data Governance on SAP S/4HANA – Classic Mode”
In the Solution Value Flow Diagram, you can see that MDG on SAP S/4HANA, classic mode supports multiple domains, including business partner, product, and financials. This diagram provides a clear representation of how a business process variant is implemented and supported by a specific solution.
As example you can see the modelled Solution Process Flow Diagrams for Decentral Creation and Decentral Change of Business Partners. In the case of Decentral Creation, a consolidation process is used, whereas for Decentral Change, the MDG, Central Governance Change Request is used.
The descriptive text next to the diagram contains more information: It provides details about the standard delivered process template and change request types that are suitable for decentralized creation and change processes.
3. Solution Variant “Centrally Managed Master Data Governance on SAP S/4HANA – Cloud-Ready Mode”
In comparison to the Solution Variant for MDG on SAP S/4HANA, classic mode you can see the Solution Value Flow Diagram for cloud-ready mode currently only contains the Business Partner Domain.
The Solution Process Flow Diagrams were initially published last year. We have now included three new diagrams, which demonstrate the support for Mass Load, Mass Change, and Mass Deletion of Business Partner Relationships.
Furthermore, to draw a comparison with classic mode diagrams, here you can see the modelled Solution Process Flow Diagrams for Decentral Creation and Decentral Change of Business Partners in cloud-ready mode. In both cases, consolidation processes are used.
We believe that this latest release will be a valuable resource for organizations looking to implement or expand their MDM capabilities. By providing a clear and comprehensive overview of the solution architecture, we aim to empower users to make the most of their MDM investment and to achieve their data management goals more efficiently.
We invite you to explore the new Reference Solution Architecture for MDM by yourself on the Business Accelerator Hub and on the SAP Signavio Process Navigator – SAP for Me.
