In this session, Ngazetungue Muheue (Software Engineer and Python Africa Community Leader) talks about how open-source technologies are transforming Africa’s tech scene. He shows how various open-source tools and platforms are helping people across the continent learn, innovate, and start new businesses.
Through insightful examples, he illustrates how open-source software is used in schools, startups, and communities to solve problems and create new opportunities and also funding of Open source events across Africa. He also compares Africa’s tech progress with what’s happening in the Western world, highlighting both differences and similarities.

I am a Software Engineer, active Python member, and dedicated Community Builder and leader. My passion for volunteering has significantly shaped my career path. I am deeply involved in the tech, Python and Django communities, particularly in Namibia and across Africa. For the past nine years, I have been organizing and volunteering at tech events globally. I am passionate about open source and regularly speak at conferences to share my knowledge and experiences.
