Winter has arrived in Montana, here’s a few things we do to prepare our fleet for freezing temps and icy roads. Where are you overlanding this winter?

Drain water tanks – Water expands when it freezes, which can crack pipes. Empty all tanks and lines, then flush with RV antifreeze to prevent damage.

Switch tires – Mud terrains are great for summer but swap them for all-terrain or snow tires (studs, if legal) to maximize winter traction.

Battery care – Fully charge and store batteries indoors on a trickle charger if not in use. For lithium, remember they can’t charge below freezing.

Critter-proofing – Remove any food and dry out compartments to avoid mold and pests during storage.

Bonus: For water on the go, use insulated water jugs with spouts—no need to re-winterize! Stay safe and prepared!
