Translation of SAP FIORI Using SE63

Estimated read time 3 min read

Introduction

SAP’s SE63 tool enables the translation of various text content within SAP systems, providing centralized translation management essential for international operations. Translating Fiori applications is crucial as it allows users to work in their own language, improving user experience and productivity. Through SE63, elements like fields, buttons, and messages in Fiori applications can be managed in multiple languages. This process ensures a consistent and cohesive user interface across different languages, offering a robust experience for global users.

In this blog, I will walk you through how to leverage SE63 for translating SAP Fiori tiles.

Let’s Start

Please follow the steps below.

Step 1:Run the SE63 transaction code through SAP GUI to access the translation tool.

Choose the “Short Texts” button.

Choose > “00 Meta Objects” > select “TABL Tables (Meta)”.

Enter the object name *WDY_CONF_USERT2*.

Enter the source and target languages and select “Edit”.

Enter the “User Scope” to “A”

Enter the ID of your catalog you created in the Configuration ID field or you can use the search help on Configuration ID to find your catalog.

Step 2:Enter translations for the texts you want to translate and save.

Step 3:Clear cache for changes to be reflected in launchpad.

To clear the cache, go to transaction “SE38” > enter “/UI2/INVALIDATE_GLOBAL_CACHES” > run in execution mode.

Result

You can now display your custom tiles, catalogs or group titles along with the intended text in the SAP Fiori Launchpad.
