Greetings!
Fabian here to continue our journey through the SAP Fieldglass Quick Win Features. First and foremost, I want to wish everyone a very happy new year! I hope you had the chance to unwind and enjoy some quality time with your loved ones.
In today’s blog post, we’ll dive into the standout features from the latest major Fieldglass release, which I believe will be incredibly valuable to our customers. Be sure to explore the links provided throughout for more detailed information.
Layout Manager
The new Layout Manager admin object is now available, empowering administrators to design home page layouts tailored to specific User Roles. This enhancement allows Buyer users to access content relevant to their daily tasks, creating a personalized experience that aligns with the unique needs of each role. Four default layouts are provided: Administrator Layout, Finance and Reporting Layout, Hiring Manager Layout and PMO Layout. While these defaults cannot be edited or removed, they can be associated with User Roles through an association tree. You can also create custom layouts to suit any User Role requirements. Please note: users can no longer customize their home pages via the My Preferences tab; all personalization must now be done through the Layout Manager admin object.

Use Flexible Skills & Certifications
As part of our Total Workforce Management initiative, we aim to sync Fieldglass Qualifications with SuccessFactors Skills. This will streamline skill searching and matching across both internal and external talent pools. Customers can now define custom assessment scales for job seekers. For instance, a French Language Skill might use a 6-point scale, whereas a Japanese Language Skill might use a 5-point scale. The Flexible Assessment Scale feature allows for both. Once enabled, existing qualifications in the library will be locked and new qualifications will be simplified to either ‘Certification’ or ‘Flexible’, allowing for custom scales. Additionally, a new “Flexible Assessment Scale” menu item has been added under the Worker tile.

New Inactive Status for Cost Centers
Introducing a new “Inactive” status for Cost Centers! This update works with the newly renamed Company Configuration: preventing the approval of Time Sheets, Expense Sheets, and Miscellaneous Invoices linked to closed or inactive Cost Centers. With this configuration, approval is not possible if any Cost Centers on the item are closed or inactive, accompanied by a warning message. This change ensures that formerly used Cost Centers, which are critical for reporting, remain part of active documents like Job Postings or Statements of Work.
