Initially used as a safety feature, anti-lock braking systems are commonplace in the modern car. By monitoring the wheel speed via a tone ring, the system modulates the driver’s inputs to make sure the wheel doesn’t lock, causing the car to slide. When it comes to two wheels, they’ve also found a home on motorbikes and cargo-bicycles, but what are the advantages and disadvantages of running an ABS on our mountain bikes on rough, offroad mountain bike trails?
