Certify Partner application built with SAP BTP and integrating/extending with SAP Business One.

SAP Integration and Certification Center (SAP ICC) is happy to announce the availability for our partners to certify SAP Business One extensions built with SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP). This ensures the extensions are built for the latest innovative platform, SAP BTP, and are cloud-ready and future-proof.

In particular partners catering to customers in the SME segment, who are considering a journey to GROW with SAP and S/4HANA Cloud public edition, will appreciate that SAP BTP allows them to build their extensions on a central platform for both solutions.

In 2024, SAP Integration and Certification Center (SAP ICC) aligned the certification portfolio to best suit the needs of our innovation partners to further certify their apps, extensions, and integrations. We are looking forward to supporting our partners’ innovation journey and publishing many more SAP-certified solutions integrated with our strategic technology and application portfolio.

SAP ICC phased out certification services for certain integration certification scenarios including SAP Business One extensions (B1-SDK, B1-HANA, B1-CLOUD). To support partners and customers who value an “SAP-certified” designation for their partner add-ons and extensions, we now offer a certification scenario specifically catering to SAP Business One extensions built with SAP BTP.

New SAP Business One Premier Partner designation: (Update on PE program changes)

With an ecosystem of 80,000 customers and 800 active partners supporting the small enterprise segment, we believe it’s important for partners focused on SAP Business One to remain competitive while transitioning (if not already) to the SAP cloud portfolio.

The new designation “SAP Business One Premier Partner” will allow our top performing partners to differentiate themselves and keep excelling in the small enterprise market space.

While we encourage all our current partners with a focus on SAP Business One to strive for the new designation, we equally encourage them to embrace the SAP cloud portfolio and endeavor to achieve the SAP Silver Partner or SAP Gold Partner level.

About SAP BTP:

SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP) brings together data and analytics, artificial intelligence, application development, automation, and integration in one, unified environment. SAP BTP is the agile platform for digital transformation, with comprehensive application development services and capabilities that allows businesses to collect, manage, analyze, and leverage information of all types, to extend and connect to business systems, and to innovate new edge scenarios to allow the business to continuously adapt and advance.

It enables customers to achieve business agility, create a truly integrated and optimized enterprise, and accelerate digital transformation across the business – all without the requirement of maintaining or investing in on-premises infrastructure. The multi-cloud foundation of SAP BTP supports multiple environments such as Cloud Foundry, ABAP, and Kyma, as well as multiple different regions, and a broad choice of programming languages.

BTP is also the foundation of the clean core concept. It enables companies to extend and integrate without changing the core of the application but still allows to extend and customize business processes to their very specific needs.

In this case, deployment on SAP BTP as well as add-on deployment on SAP Business One will be checked as a part of BTP-EXT-B1 Certification.

Technical Approaches for SAP Business One Integration via SAP BTP

If the partner application is deployed on platforms (other than SAP BTP), it can utilize SAP BTP’s Integration Suite service to build integration content to integrate with SAP Business One. This qualifies for IS-PI-CNT certification.

If you develop a content package on SAP Integration Suite (within Cloud Integration capability), then please contact your ICC technical consultant to get appropriate certification documentation.

For partners who want to integrate with or extend SAP Business One – also in view of future planned integrations with S/4HANA Cloud public edition – our recommended approach is to build extensions and integrations with SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP). Partners can apply for this new certification scenario (called BTP-EXT-B1) via Partner Benefit Catalog – PBC.
