This blog post is dedicated to the functionality available from Q32024 and which was long awaited by a lot of customers.
The Identity Provisioning Service (IPS) integration, a part of SAP Cloud Identity Services, is now available for SAP HANA Cloud, SAP HANA database (HANA DB) (link to a public HANA Cloud roadmap item and a link IPS “What is new” section).
This integration allows for streamlined automated user provisioning, simplifying the management of user access and roles within the HANA Cloud environment. IPS, as a mechanism for assignments transport, maps assignments coming from user source, such as the Identity Directory, to the one in HANA Cloud DB (like HANA roles). By leveraging this functionality, organizations can enhance their identity management processes directly within their cloud database systems.
In this blog post, we will dwell through detailed guidance on configuring and utilizing this IPS service together with HANA DB.
