Blue Derby, Tasmania, has a brand new trail, Triple 3. Named for the very first product Shimano ever sold — the 3.3.3. Freewheel — this project was made possible thanks to the Trail Born Program, which has allocated $10 million US over the next decade to building singletrack worldwide.

Blue Derby was the first recipient of Shimano’s Trail Born grant, which not only funded the construction of this hand-built masterpiece in Blue Derby, but also the maintenance of the trail for the next three years.

Launched just in time for the 10-year anniversary celebrations in Derby, we sent Flow’s fastest correspondents, Ryan Gilchrist and Luke Meier-Smith, on a recon mission to Derby to see what this trail was all about.
