SAP UI5 versions do have their own release cycle. The referenced SAP UI5 version is tightly coupled with the SAP BTP ABAP Environment release. It is not possible to configure other SAP UI5 versions due to functional dependencies between front-end features like in the ABAP Fiori Launchpad and in the backend.

Release Schedule

SAP BTP ABAP Environment is delivered on a quarterly basis (see planned maintenance). SAP UI5 is delivered on a monthly basis. Therefore, each third SAP UI5 major version is consumed by a SAP BTP ABAP Environment release.

Corrections of SAP UI5 versions are delivered via patch versions. The reference to a patched SAP UI5 version can be updated via a hotfix collection of the SAP BTP ABAP Environment (see planned maintenance above).
