In this blog, we will walk through how to set up the accounts that should be aggregated by date, for example, Asset accounts or Headcount .

To begin with, SAC can prioritize aggregation either to the Measure or to the Account dimension.
In this case, we will need to prioritize the Account dimension because we want to set up the type of Exception Aggregation according to the Account.

After this, we can use the Account dimension.

This setup must be done :
Exception Aggregation Type: LAST
Exception Aggregation Dimensions: DATE

Finally, we can open our report and verify that the nre Exception Aggregation is working: Account values are no longer summed up at the Year level, instead the last Month value is used for Aggregation:

Bonus
How to control calculation priorities across different Measures and Accounts ?

In this case, we can use the Custom Priority for calculations:

Once this is enabled, a beautiful interface to assign custom priority to Measures and Accounts will be available in the Model Calculations workspace:

Hope you enjoyed this blog.

I love playing with standard SAC Planning and OneStream functionalities to limit the customization when possible. And this case is a beautiful example of this approach.
