In this blog, we will discuss in detail how to provision SAP Databricks via Business Data Cloud Core.
With the completion of the provisioning of SAP Datasphere and SAP Analytics Cloud, you can start with SAP DatabricksIn the “Provision SAP Databricks” dialog that appears, provide details such as Solution Name, Resource Group, and Business Type. You can select the business type from ‘Test’ or ‘Production’The Quota Amount is not enforced. You can use SAP Databricks even if you do not indicate capacity units for it. Billing is always according to SAP Databricks’ actual usage and not according to the indicated quota. You can just select ‘1’ and move to the next stepSelect the Cloud Identity Service tenant that is configured with your BTP cockpitSelect the same region previously chosen for provisioning the BDC Cockpit
Input details in the configure parameters section, such as the owner’s email, name, etc.In SAP Databricks, your SAP Databricks tenant is implemented in the form of an account. Provide the account name. You can use the resource name. In case you have several SAP Databricks accounts, use names that will allow you to distinguish themSelect the Formation where you want to add the Databricks tenant
Provide the name for the formation that contains the SAP Databricks tenant and the IAS system you selected in a previous tab. In a separate step, you will create a formation of ‘Business Data Cloud’ type containing SAP Databricks and the other SAP Business Data Cloud systems, see Creating SAP Business Data Cloud Formations.A confirmation message informs you that the provisioning request has been sent. Click “View in Resources” to see the tenant within the indicated resource groupIn the Resources tab, the status of the solution is “Processing” and will change to “Ready” once the provisioning is completeThe system owner of SAP Databricks, specified during provisioning, receives an email notification when the tenant is provisionedOnce the tenant is ready, you will be able to access the tenant from the link under the ‘Resource’ tab and under the tenant detailsUnder ‘Customer Landscape’, you can see the system details of the new tenant. Also, the system integration is visually presented, making it easier to understand and navigate through your system landscapeAs a next step, you will have to add the tenant to the ‘Formation’, that you have created already and added your BDC tenant to itNavigate to me.sap.com > Products & portfolio > Business Data Cloud > Customer Landscape > FormationChoose the correct Formation and then click on ‘Include System’ and choose the Databricks tenant to include in the formation, and save the changesA single Databricks tenant can only be part of one formation and not multiple formations
