The Dalton Highway is widely considered to be one of the most dangerous roads in North America. Rough, narrow roads are shared with heavy industrial traffic servicing the oil fields in the north. Weather can change quickly making the road treacherous, and temperatures in the north rarely go above freezing. As @TrailRecon and I head into Alaska on our 3rd Bucket Trip, we decide to travel the over 800 round trip miles, across the Arctic Circle, to the northern most drivable point in North America. This is Bucket Trip 3: Alaska.
