Manage Transformation Projects

Manage Transformation Projects app under Transformations section in Cloud ALM:

Create a transformation project based on available transformation scenarios. Currently only to make a selective data transition for SAP ERP Central Component (SAP ECC) to the transformation functionality in SAP S/4HANA is available.

We can further assign a digital blueprint to the transformation project.

The transformation project in SAP Cloud ALM creates:

A project

Creates Tasks where the initial product for the “lean selective data transition” scenario has approximately 45 project steps from setup to cycle execution.

New App: Guided Implementation

To execute implementation projects by following the SAP Activate Methodology in the new Guided Implementation App.

It helps to:

Get an overview of all the tasks in project

Change the status of a task

Change the responsible persons for tasks

Change the planned completion dates for tasks

Check for available resources for tasks

Change history for process authoring

We can now view change history in Process Authoring. This offers transparency and accountability.

Configuration library

Configuration Library is now available in Cloud ALM. Under Configuration Library, all configuration unit originals and their elements from the configuration library folders are collected and displayed in a hierarchical structure.

Document relation to Solution Activity & Configuration Library

In the Documents app we can assign:

Solution activity library elements.

Configuration library elements

Deployment scheduler for transport

In the deployment app we can see all available deployment schedules:

Create a deployment plan in Manage Projects à Deployment Plan and assign the Releases and Systems Groups.

A deployment plan can include several system groups. When we can assign a deployment plan to the project, these system groups will also be assigned to the project as landscape.

We can deploy the Features as per the assigned Releases, Frequency, Target Tenant and feature status, which helps in scheduling transports.

Test plan copy

We can now create copies of test plans, to reuse them for subsequent testing cycles by multiple testers.

The copy of the test plan is created in the same project and with the same attributes as the source test plan.

Mass upload of test cases

We can now Upload multiple test cases in one file, which helps the tester in uploading multiple test cases at once, which was not possible earlier. It saves lot of time and makes test management much more efficient.

Upload of multiple test cases in one file to SAP Cloud ALM:

Click on the Test Preparation appNavigate to the “Upload Button.Download the template to fill it with your test cases

Upload the test cases.

Mass configuration for events in the “health monitoring” application

We can now configure mass events and assign Variants to multiple KPI’s at once.

Customer-defined KPIs in business process monitoring for non-ABAP-based components

In addition to the pre-defined KPI’s, we can add custom KPIs (up to 15 KPI’s as of now)

Currently this is focused on business technology platform and the architecture foundation for the data collection and instrumentation is based on open telemetry.

We can also monitor the app built on BTP. We can now create our own custom KPI’s to monitor the execution and report it in SAP cloud ALM.

Procedure

Choose Configuration to open the configuration panel.Expand the sections àManaged Components KPI Management.Choose àConfigure KPIs.Choose à(Create Custom KPI.

Under Information, fill in the fields as belowUnder Characteristics, define the characteristics of custom KPI and Save.

Activate the Data Collection for Custom KPIs

After the custom KPI has been created, we need to activate the data collection for the KPI in the managed service.

Choose Configuration to open the configuration panel.Expand the sections Managed Components Services / Systems and make sure that the service from which the KPI should collect data is active.Expand the KPI Management section to see a list of all KPIs that are available.Select the custom KPI.Go to the Data Collection tab.Under Services / Systems, switch on the data collection for the relevant service.

Job & Automation Monitoring has new filters available

In Analysis page, to further refine the jobs and automations displayed. Filters can be found under “Additional filters”, and they are:

Step/Executable: Filter by the step/executable name of the job or automation.Executed By: Filter by the user who has executed the job or automation.Scheduled By: Filter by the user who has scheduled the job or automation.

Intelligent Event Processing with Event Name

In Intelligent Event Processing, it’s now possible to view the Event Name and Service Type for the variant in the “Where Used” pane. Additionally, it’s now possible to use the “Live Search” to find variants using Event Name and Service Type information.

Health Monitoring now supports SAP Datasphere

SAP Datasphere is an integrated and persona-driven data warehouse-as-a-service solution that helps business and IT users better understand and analyze their business data.

We can configure KPI’s as below:

Memory Used by SpacesDisk Used by SpacesDisk Storage UsedOut-of-Memory ErrorsFailed TasksAdmission Control: Queue EventsAdmission Control: Rejection Events

Health Monitoring now supports SAP Market Communication for Utilities

SAP Market Communication for Utilities application provides a cloud-based solution for the holistic management of communication processes in the energy market, tightly integrated with SAP for Utilities.

We can configure Certificate Validity KPI.

What’s coming up?

ABAP Test Cockpit checks integrationIntegrate the different check variants of the ABAP Test Cockpit (ATC) configured on the managed system with SAP Cloud ALMEnable a manual action to trigger the checks in ABAP Test Cockpit (ATC) for the transports on feature levelShow the results of the checks in the feature details view accordingly for each transportThis will help in ensuring good quality of ABAP code.Dashboard for RISE with SAP Methodology: operations viewOperations View, displaying the System Health of your selected systems, providing transparency about their operational health. This shows the history and trend of the System Health score and its KPIs for selected systems over the last 30 days, allowing us to track progress over time, identify issues, and take appropriate actions to improve the System Health score accordinglySupport of test sequences in test plansDefine sequences in test plans for the execution of test casesThis will help the tester in managing the test case execution.System availability events for SAP S/4HANATo send a regular heartbeat metric to “health monitoring” through on-premises software like SAP S/4HANA or offerings like SAP Business SuiteRaise an event in health monitoring if the heartbeat metric is no longer receivedBased on the event, configure different actions (for example, an alert or an email) to get notified if the system is no longer respondingReceive notifications if an on-premises system is no longer responding to SAP Cloud ALM
