The First Turkey Mountain Bike Reserve in Rockhampton is a 40km oasis on the edge of Mount Archer.
Dutifully managed by the local MTB club, there are warp-speed flow trails, janky tech akin to solving a high-speed Rubik’s Cube, and everything in between. The riding scene here is warm and welcoming, as are the balmy daytime highs during the winter. Top all this off with a town teeming with history and culture, and you’ve got quite the hidden gem.
