IMPLEMENTATION UPDATES
1. Streamline your Testing Process with Enhanced Test Case Management
You can now find out whether your manual test case was created manually or imported from an external system with the new Source field in the test case editor. This helps you quickly identify the test cases that have been transferred into SAP Cloud ALM from a different source, for example from SAP Solution Manager. Additionally, it lets you easily navigate to the source system via the included link.
2. Enhanced Process Owner Assignment with Mass Edit
You are now able to modify the process owner for multiple solution processes in one action by utilizing the existing Mass Edit button within the Processes app. This can be useful if you need to make multiple changes at once based on Process Hierarchy or Country/Region assignments, for instance. You can change the process owner assignments in both display mode and Edit Scope mode by selecting one or more solution processes and choosing Mass Edit. The following values are possible:
<Keep Values>: This default value leaves current assignments unchanged. <Clear Values>: Unassigns the previous process owners for the selected entries. Name of current user: Choose this to assign yourself as process owner for all selected entries. Select Other User: Displays a search field allowing you to assign another user as process owner.
Note
The entries made here overwrite any previous assignments for the selected solution processes, even for solution processes that are not currently scoped or have never been scoped before. For performance reasons, only the first 100 entries are currently mass edited regardless of how many rows are selected. This may be particularly relevant for users using the Edit Scope function.
3. Introducing the Document Distribution Dashboard
The Document Distribution app offers an overview of documents across various dimensions such as type, priority, and owner, utilizing horizontal bar charts for easy visualization. The app provides navigation and filtering options, enhancing document management efficiency within SAP Cloud ALM. By using this feature, you can quickly identify, prioritize, and manage your documents more effectively, leading to streamlined workflows and improved productivity.
4. New supported solution scenario available
The solution scenario Automotive JIT Integration with Logistics Component Groups is now available and has been added to the list of supported solutions for Process Management.
5. Tag Assignment now available in Test Plans
You can now assign tags to your test plans. Simply select a test plan from the list, choose Edit, and add or create relevant tags in the General Information section. With tags, you can conveniently group test plans based on a common attribute, making it easy to search and filter for related test plans in the list view.
Note
Tags created within the Test Plans app will be automatically deleted if they are no longer associated with any SAP Cloud ALM object.
6. Structured Document Approval Workflow
The controlled document approval workflow ensures that your documents follow a structured approval process within the Documents application. This strengthens the compliance of your SAP Cloud ALM projects. To indicate that a document requires approval, enable the Approval feature.
Further changes depend on the document’s approval state, which users can modify, for example, to Start Approval, Cancel, Approve, or Reject. Once a document is approved or rejected, you can use the Rework option to revert it to the editing stage. For more detailed information, refer to Document Approval.
OPERATIONS UPDATES
7. New KPI for SAP SuccessFactors Payroll
There is now a new KPI for SAP SuccessFactors Payroll available that improves your business process monitoring capabilities. You can find The KPI Employees Without Payroll Area Assignment under the end-to-end process Recruit to Retire.
This KPI is automatically activated if the necessary setup steps for SAP SuccessFactors Payroll have been completed, and the relevant data is being generated.
8. Enhanced Anomaly Detection for Business Services
You can now configure the Anomaly Detected in the Number of Messages Processed event for Business Services. This event lets you receive notifications or initiate corrective actions when the number of messages processed in a business service rises above or falls below a specific threshold in a defined period.
To know more about configuring the event, refer to Anomalies Detected in the Number of Messages Processed Event. To know more about configuring business services, refer to Business Services.
9. New generic data provider in the Integration Monitoring Analytics API
A new generic data provider, Integration Monitoring Messages, has been introduced for the Integration Monitoring Analytics API. This data provider enables the collection of all data from the Integration and Exception Monitoring app, independent of the message category. Previously, individual data providers were restricted to a single category, and you had to make multiple calls to collect messages of different categories. With the Integration Monitoring Messages data provider, you can now collect messages of multiple categories in a single call.
Note
It is recommended that you use Integration Monitoring Messages as the data provider while configuring the Integration Monitoring Analytics API.
To know more about configuring the analytics API, refer to API Guide for SAP Cloud ALM.
10. New Status in Action Logs of Intelligent Event Processing
A new status, Pending, has been added to the event action entries in the Action Logs. This status indicates that an event action has been initiated by the app and is awaiting acknowledgement from the related service’s end. Below you’ll find the different statuses of an event:
Pending: The event action is initiated by the app and is awaiting acknowledgment from the related service’s end.Successful: The event action is successfully triggered.Failed: The event action failed to trigger successfully.
