Watch a delivery of cargo, science, and supplies launch to the International Space Station!
NASA, Northrop Grumman, and SpaceX are targeting no earlier than 6:11 p.m. EDT (2211 UTC) on Sunday, Sept. 14, for the liftoff of Northrop Grumman’s uncrewed Cygnus XL spacecraft, carried on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.
Scientific investigations and technology demonstrations traveling in the spacecraft include materials to produce semiconductor crystals in space and potential improvements to cryogenic fuel tanks. The spacecraft also will deliver a specialized UV light system to keep microbes from growing in water systems, as well as supplies to produce pharmaceutical crystals that could treat cancer and other diseases.
