Service Interfaces and ABAP Proxy generation support in SAP Integration Suite

Introduction

This blog describes how to import Service Interface objects from SAP PI /PO ESR to Cloud Integration Capability of SAP Integration Suite and also the procedure to connect SAP R3 or S/4 HANA systems to Integration Suite tenant and generate ABAP-Proxies.

This feature is available in SAP Integration Suite Cloud Integration (6.69.41 ) standard and above service plans.

Pre-requisites :

1. Configuring Cloud Connector

The first step is to configure SAP Cloud Connector with on premise ES Repository. Cloud connector is an installable application that allows you to establish communication between on premise and cloud applications. 2. Configure Connection to ESR

Please refer to the following documentation for details on configuration of ESR system details in Cloud Integration Settings page.

Once the ES Repository configurations are completed, you can import the Service Interface objects  from your ES Repository.

Importing Service Interface Artifact :

1. Create a new Integration Package or Open an existing Integration Package.

2. Click on Edit and switch to the Artifacts tab

3. Expand Add menu  and select Service Interface option from the list.

4. A Wizard with title Add Service Interface  and steps to be followed is displayed. 

5. Select the SAP Process Integration system in the Name dropdown and click on connect. On successful Connection, the Service Interface artifacts present in the ES Repository of the connected SAP PI/PO system are listed.

6. Select a Service Interface and proceed with Next Step. This step displays the details (Name, Namespace) of the Service Interface that is selected for import along with the dependent Resources used in the definition of Service Interface.

 

7. On Proceeding to Next step, the Summary of the import along with the dependant resources is displayed. 

8. On Click of Add, the selected Service Interface artifact gets created and listed in the Artifacts page.

9.   On click of the Service Interface artifact from the Artifacts list page, the artifact gets opened and displayed as follows:

1)Local  : Lists the External Messages/RFCs/IDOCs used in the definition of the Operation(s) of the Service Interface artifact as shown as WSDLs

2)Global : Lists the MessageTypes/Fault Message types used in the definition of the Operation(s) of the Service Interface artifact
