This time, I want to show you a new pre-built dashboard “Project Analytics”, using the data from Implementation part of SAP Cloud ALM.
Can you tell me more about this new pre-built dashboard?
The “Project Analytics” dashboard leverages multiple APIs from SAP Cloud ALM, with each API dedicated to specific project elements, such as requirements, tasks, defects, and more. By creating a separate model for each API, I’ve integrated these data streams into a cohesive dashboard. This approach allows for a comprehensive view of project implementation, combining diverse data points into informative visualizations tailored to enhance project analysis and decision-making.
This pre-built dashboard shows an example of what you can have in SAP Analytics Cloud by using the APIs of SAP Cloud ALM Implementation. It can be use as it is if it suits your needs. But if you are more interested in specifics elements like “Defects” and not that much into “Tasks”, it can be customized to focus on your needs. It can be used as a starting point of discussion. This adaptability ensures that the dashboard meets your unique requirements.
What charts does this pre-built dashboard contain?
The “Project Analytics” dashboard is structured to give both an overview and detailed insights into your project implementation. Here’s a breakdown of the dashboard sections:
Project Selection and Date Display:
At the top right of the dashboard, you can select from the available projects. In this demo, two project data sets are included. Selecting a project synchronizes all charts to show data specific to that project. To the top right again, the date of the data being viewed is displayed. All models in this dashboard get data automatically from SAP Cloud ALM once daily, each morning, this is the default setup for this dashboard.
Project and Element Overview:
The second row provides a summary of the project and its key elements, offering a general view without delving into specifics. This includes the total number of items within the project.
It also presents an overview of the status of features and defects, with multiple iterations of similar charts, because why not?
Detailed Element Analysis:
This section offers a more granular look at certain elements, with a focus on Requirements and Tasks for this demo.
Requirements:
You have one chart that illustrate the evolution of items created over time. Some numbers that compare item creation on a weekly and monthly basis, demonstrating possible analytical calculations.A chart which shows the distribution of requirements by status and priority, offering a snapshot of the project’s current state.A comparison between confirmed requirements this week and last week provides insight into project progress.
Tasks:
You can see a graph which displays the daily evolution of tasks, broken down by status to observe trends and changes. Then on the right is a table showcasing that beyond numbers, Cloud ALM also provides detailed item information. While this demo includes a few columns, additional details like descriptions and assignees can also be displayed and used on others type of charts.
This pre-built dashboard provide both high-level summaries and detailed analyses. It also showed you some capabilities of integrating data from SAP Cloud ALM projects into SAP Analytics Cloud.
How to have it on my SAP Analytics Cloud tenant?
The installation/customization of the “Project Analytics” dashboard is a service provided by SAP. If you’re interested in obtaining this dashboard, whether in its current form or customized to meet your specific needs, please reach out to your SAP representative.
