SAP Integration Suite – Cloud integration Message Usage analytics details

Introduction

We are excited to share the latest improvements in SAP Integration Suite designed to support key business scenarios related to consumption-based usage tracking.

With these enhancements, users can now gain deeper insights into message consumption across their integration flows and easily download consolidated monthly usage reports.

How to check Cloud Integration capability consumptions as a Subaccount Admin

If you are a subaccount admin and want to know the consumption of the cloud integration capability in Integration Suite service, follow these steps:

Open your subaccount where Cloud Integration capability of Integration Suite service is activated.In the left navigation pane, click on Usage Analytics. This page displays the consumption details for all services.You can select a date range (Period) to view usage for a specific timeframe.After selecting the required period, the table will show detailed consumption for all services. In the table, check the “Service Plan” column for entries related to Integration Suite – messages.For Cloud Integration (CPI) messages, two entries are important:Total Cloud Integration Messages (e.g., 658 messages)Excluded Cloud Integration Messages (Only SAP to SAP) (e.g., 320 messages)Total Chargeable Messages = Total Cloud Integration Messages – Excluded Cloud Integration Messages.

 

 

In case we want to cross-verify this data at each integration flow level/MPL level, we need to navigate to the Messages Usage tile and follow the below steps:

Ensure your user has the required role (PI_Administrator).Navigate to Instances and Subscriptions under the Services tab.Click Go to Application.Open the Monitoring tab and select Integrations and APIs.Scroll down to find the Messages Usage tile and click it.

On initial load, it will show the data for the current month.

 

 

Background

As many of you know, the Cloud Integration capability of SAP Integration Suite already provides double-click metering details for every integration flow execution.

Based on valuable feedback from our customers, this detailed view has proven useful in:

Troubleshooting message volume spikesIdentifying specific integration flow that contributes the most in message consumptionUnderstanding how key components (such as Splitter, Retry, or SAP-to-SAP Original Content) impact billable messages

These details are crucial for transparency and cost management, as outlined in the message definition documentation.

 

What’s New

Many customers expressed the need for a monthly consolidated Excel report for each integration flow — including package-level information.
With this new enhancement, users can now:

View consolidated monthly message consumption per integration flow and per packageDownload the report directly from the Message Usage tile in a single clickShare usage data easily with Lines of Business (LoBs) for further analysis and discussions

 

Access the Message Usage tile explained above.

Default view shows the current month.

When you open the Message Usage tile, the dashboard automatically loads data for the current month, giving you an immediate overview of your latest message consumption trends.

New Enhancement – Below the chart you will see the consolidated table

This enhanced table provides:

Each integration flow’s total message count, including SAP-to-SAP messagesThe package name associated with each integration flow
This consolidated view helps you quickly understand usage distribution across packages and identify high-volume integrations.Download the monthly consolidated report

Simply click the Download button to export the full current monthly report.

 

 

 

Now try to get the previous month’s data

We provide up to 1 year of historical data. To get the previous month’s details, follow the steps below:

Select the previous month’s first and last date

Use the Select Date Range option and choose the start and end dates of the month you want to retrieve.

View the refreshed consolidated table

Once the date range is applied, the table below will automatically refresh, showing the consolidated message usage for the selected month.

Download the monthly consolidated data

Click the Download button to export the full month’s report.
This file can be used for internal reviews, consumption analysis, or cost-related discussions with business teams.

 

 

Advanced Settings for Better Table Control

Along with the consolidated table, we also provide an Advanced Settings option.
Using this feature, you can:

Sort the data based on columnFilter records to focus on specific integration flows or packagesAdjust or reorder columns to view the information in the format that best suits your analysis

These options give you more flexibility to analyse message consumption in .

 

 

Enhanced Troubleshooting

This new capability extends our existing metering feature, which already helps users:

Investigate message spikesDrill down into detailed metering data for specific integration flowsUse the interactive charts to visualize data based on selected metrics

Now, with the consolidated reporting feature, you get both detailed troubleshooting views and high-level monthly summaries — in one place.
