The seventh generation of the Trek Fuel is the most adaptable yet, thanks to swappable shock links that open up a wide range of geometry and travel options. The Fuel EX tested here is the version that will likely appeal to the broadest swath of riders, with 145mm of rear travel, a 150mm fork, and dual 29” wheels. There’s also the MX version for riders who want a little more travel and mixed wheels, and the gravity-oriented LX model that I reviewed earlier this year.
