ChatGPT to show ads for free and Go users in the US

In an official blog post, OpenAI announced that it has begun testing ads in ChatGPT for free and Go users in the US. The ads will be shown only to logged-in adult users, while users under the age of 18 will not see them.

ChatGPT users with Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, and Education subscriptions will not see any ads. OpenAI also confirmed that the ads will not influence the answers in a chat.

Free ChatGPT users can also choose to disable ads, but doing so will come with a reduced free message limit. Ads shown in a chat will also be labelled as ‘Sponsored’ and shown separately…
