1. SAP BTP subaccount / provisioning issues
Issue
Solution/Available fix
You have a license for an SAP product that supports Joule integration (such as SAP SuccessFactors, SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition, etc.) and after creating a subaccount the Joule service is not available in the subaccount entitlement.
Check SAP Help:Data Centers Supported by Joule
The data centre is supported but the entitlements are not available in your global account.
Contact your SAP Account Manager/Executive.
Refer to SAP Note 3639572 – Enabling Joule with SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition
The menu entry “System Landscape” is not visible in the Global account of your SAP BTP Cockpit.
You are not an administrator of the Global account.
SAP Note 3456718 – Menu “System Landscape” is not visible in the Global account of SAP BTP Cockpit
SAP Note 2669325 – How to add a user as a SAP Business Technology Platform Global Account Administrator
SAP systems are not visible in SAP BTP under the system landscape.
Before adding your system, make sure it’s not already auto-discovered and listed automatically on the System Landscape —> Systems page.
Refer to SAP Help: BTP Registering SAP System
SAP Note 3661817 – SAP systems are missing in System Landscape of the BTP Cockpit
2. Joule Activation/Issues during the execution of the Joule booster
While running the booster configuration for the Joule Service, the prerequisites check failed for the Identity Authentication Tenant.
An error message is displayed: “Your global account does not have an Identity Authentication service tenant.”
Ensure that the IAS tenant is visible under the global account and configure trust between the Identity Authentication Service (IAS) and the Joule subaccount.
The Joule booster is being run, and you encounter the following error:
*********************************
Could not find SAP Cloud Identity system with host <IAS tenant>.
Report an incident in the BC-CP-MP component
The SAP Cloud Identity Services tenant isn’t connected to the correct SAP BTP Global Account, or it’s linked to the wrong customer ID.
How to Fix it:
a. Make sure your IAS tenant is linked to the correct Global Account.
Check the SAP Help:View Assigned Tenants and Admins.
b. If you have multiple IAS tenants , use the IAS tenant that matches the Global Account’s customer ID.
Important:Data syncing between systems usually takes up to one week.Wait for this to complete before running the booster again so that the SAP IAS system appears in all the accounts.
You can manually trigger the sync via the “Refresh” button.
SAP Note 3620409 – Could not find SAP Cloud Identity system with host: Joule booster error
Enabling Joule leads to the following error:
“Prerequisites for the formation type “Integration with Joule” are not fulfilled.
No SAP Cloud identity service system is showing up under“System landscape” —>System
A new SAP BTP Global Account will take some time to synchronize all existing customer systems, but you can manually trigger the sync via the “Refresh” button.
This should ensure that your SAP Cloud Identity Services system shows up. Afterwards you can proceed with the Joule configuration.
The SAP Build Work Zone system does not appear in the dropdown list during the setup process (Joule Booster – Step 5 Set Up Integrations).
The SAP Build Work Zone service was not subscribed to under the relevant subaccount.
An instance of this service is not enough for the integration; therefore, the system will not appear under the options.
Add the SAP Build Work Zone subscription in the Joule subaccount. Refer to
SAP Note 3710864 – SAP Build Work Zone system not visible in dropdown during setup
Unable to find the SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition option in Step 3 – “Select Integration” stage dropdown during activation by means of the Joule Booster.
In global account Systems, the SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition system is already auto-discovered.
Ensure that it is visible in Joule Booster Step 04 “Select Capabilities”, select “S/4HANA Private Cloud” and proceed to complete the Joule booster.
Refer to SAP Note 3710921 – S/4HANA Private Cloud option is not listed in Step 3 – “Select Integration” in Joule Booster for detailed information.
Error message: “The subscription of subaccount <xxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxx> to application das-application and plan foundation, failed with state: SUBSCRIBE_FAILED.”
Observe the error messages indicating SaaS Subscription failed and instructions to open a support case or unsubscribe and retry.
Refer to SAP Note 3689452 – Entity Saas Subscription failed after running Joule Booster for detailed instructions.
If the issue persists, raise a support incident and choose component CA-JOULE-PRV-ONB for further investigation.
3. UX/ Icon appearance issue
Joule refused to frame ‘https://xxx.xxx.cloud.sap/‘ because an ancestor violates the following Content Security Policy directive: “frame-ancestors”.
Enable 3rd party cookies of your browser.Add the trusted domain in SAP IAS and SAP BTP
a. Add trusted domain in SAP IAS in the SAP Cloud Identity Services tenant.
Go to Applications & Resources –>Tenant Settings –> Trusted Domains–> Click the + (Add) button
Type the URL of the trusted host into the field.
b. Add the trusted domain in SAP BTP.
In SAP BTP cockpit, navigate to your specific subaccount —> Security —> Settings.
Click the + (Add) button.
Enter the required hostname, for example: https://<your-s4-or-sfsf-url>.com
The Joule icon at the top app bar in the Fiori Launchpad is not properly displayed.
The issue is caused using an unsupported SAPUI5 version in the SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition system.
Upgrade the SAPUI5 Component version of SAP S/4HANA to be equal to or higher than the minimum supported version.
SAP Notes:
2346367 – How to upgrade the SAPUI5 library in ABAP – SAP for Me

After integrating Joule with SAP Solutions, the user is unable to launch Joule by clicking the diamond icon, it fails to load or respond.
Allow third-party cookies.
SAP Note 3643889 – User unable to launch the Joule Icon after integrating with SAP Solutions
The Joule icon is not appearing for a specific user despite that the correct role-based permissions have been assigned in SAP SuccessFactors.
The issue is most likely caused by security policies of the network provider, which may be blocking certain URLs that are required for the icon to appear.
The affected user does not have the General User Permission —>Access to Joule
Refer to SAP Note 3685621 – Joule button not appearing on SuccessFactors
After clicking on the Joule icon in SAP SuccessFactors, it tries to load for a few minutes and subsequently the user gets a blank or greyed-out screen.
Refer to SAP Note 3544482 – Getting Error / White /Blank / IAS login Screen When Trying to Launch Joule in SuccessFactors
4. SAP IPS/IAS issues
The SAP IAS source system read job is failing.
Keep the source system name the same as in the content channel that had been created in the standard SAP Build Work Zone.
Joule was successfully integrated with the SAP product. However, clicking the Joule icon results in a blank white or SAP IAS login screen. Single sign-on is not working.
Check the SAP IAS domain. In the SAP BTP Joule subaccount, go to Trust Configuration and select the Custom Identity Provider for Applications.
Change the field “Domain” to the one used in the SAP product.
Refer to SAP Note 3635949 – Blank white / IAS login screen appears when clicking on Joule icon from the solutions where Joule was integrated into
