Watch as NASA’s Artemis II crew arrives at the agency’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida, where they’ll speak about their upcoming mission around the Moon.
Artemis II’s crew members are:
– Reid Wiseman, commander and NASA astronaut
– Victor Glover, pilot and NASA astronaut
– Christina Koch, mission specialist and NASA astronaut
– Jeremy Hansen, mission specialist and CSA (Canadian Space Agency) astronaut
The Artemis II crew will be greeted by leaders including:
– NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman
– CSA (Canadian Space Agency) President Lisa Campbell
The Artemis II test flight will be NASA’s first mission with crew aboard the SLS (Space Launch System) rocket and Orion spacecraft. NASA is targeting no earlier than Wednesday, April 1, for the test flight during a two-hour window that opens at 6:24 p.m. EDT (2224 UTC), with additional launch opportunities through Monday, April 6.
Through Artemis, NASA will send astronauts to explore the Moon for scientific discovery, economic benefits, and to build the foundation for the first crewed missions to Mars.
