Move from reactive to proactive planning with Predictive Material Requirements Planning (pMRP) in SAP Cloud ERP, built for long-term, scenario-based planning.
In this video, you’ll learn:
👉 How to create reference data used in pMRP simulations
👉 How to set up a pMRP scenario and generate an initial simulation
👉 Which job templates, parameters, and filters help tailor the simulation to your planning needs
In pMRP Basics Part 1, you’ll get a hands-on walkthrough of how to create reference data and generate an initial simulation using the Schedule pMRP Simulation Creation app. We show how a scenario is set up, how a background job builds the reference data and simulation, and which key options help you tailor the selection to your planning needs.
You’ll also learn how to choose the right job template (components, top-level materials, or work centers), set up the job as a one-time or recurring run, and define the parameters that shape the simulation. In the demo, we cover practical configuration choices like bucket type (monthly or weekly), the time horizon (example: February 2026 through February 2027), and filtering options such as plant, material selection, MRP controller, MRP type, and low-level code. We also highlight useful settings like BOM selection ID for using a specific BOM usage, plus demand and stock-related options that influence how reference data is constructed.
Finally, we show how to schedule the job, track the status, and review the log so you can confirm what materials, sources, and work centers were included. Stay tuned for Part 2, where we go deeper into managing simulations and analyzing results.
