Experience a historic moment in human spaceflight: the first-ever ship-to-ship call between astronauts on a deep space mission and astronauts aboard the International Space Station. The Artemis II crew — NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and CSA astronaut Jeremy Hansen — connected with Expedition 74 astronauts Chris Williams, Jack Hathaway, Jessica Meir, and ESA astronaut Sophie Adenot.
During the conversation, the ISS crew asked about life inside Orion and what it’s like to view the Moon up close. The Artemis II astronauts shared how training from the space station continues to shape their mission. Christina Koch, who completed spacewalks with Jessica Meir in 2020, reflected: “Every single thing that we learned on ISS is up here.”
This edited video aligns audio and video and removes long pauses caused by the communications delay as signals traveled more than 232,000 miles between spacecraft. The 15‑minute call began at 2:40 p.m. EDT on April 7, 2026.
