When dawn breaks over a garden, certain flowers unfurl to meet the Sun. Then, as dusk descends, these same blooms curl their petals inward—the result of many individual cells all working together in response to changing light levels.
Earlier this year, researchers designed a group of interconnected minirobots, nicknamed the Swarm Garden, that behaves in a similar way.
