Landing on Venus is a nightmare and not just for the obvious reasons.

Venus is one of the most hellish places in our solar system. It has no magnetic field, pressure nearly 93x that of Earth, and temperatures that can soar over 450 degrees celsius (that’s hot enough to melt lead!).

In the 1950’s, Soviet scientists started plans to do what seemed impossible: send a lander to the surface and take photos. Nearly 30 years later they actually did it, but it took a lot of trial and error and some creative engineering. To find out how they did it and more, subscribe!
