Today I’m driving the Lotus Emira V6 First Edition on the Nürburgring Nordschleife — 3.5-litre supercharged V6, 400 hp, gorgeous chassis, and one of the best-sounding engines you can buy new. And I need to talk about it, because this car made me genuinely angry. Not because it’s bad — because it’s this close to being perfect. The steering, the balance, the way it moves on the Nordschleife: proper Lotus. But this one has the automatic gearbox, and the shift times… you’ll hear my live reaction. Full onboard, some skids, and an honest answer to whether the auto ruins the Emira or whether I’m overreacting. (I know — the manual exists. That’s part of the conversation.)
