Today I’m driving a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. 4.0-litre naturally aspirated flat-six, manual, and one of the best chassis Porsche has built in the last decade. This is the car I keep telling people to buy if they want to actually enjoy a track day rather than just post a lap time: the balance, the steering feel, the way it lets you work the mid-engine layout through the Nordschleife’s fast direction changes. And then a Ferrari SF90 appeared in front of us, which made things more interesting. In this video: full onboard, my honest verdict on the 718 GT4 as a Nordschleife car, what it does brilliantly, what it asks of you, and how it handles being outgunned on power.
