Japan partners with Nvidia to boost GPU stock pile

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, on Monday, said he will ā€œprioritizeā€ Japan for batches of GPUs to help develop the nationā€™s AI industry, promising partnerships with local giants including Softbank to help develop the industry locally.

ā€œDemand is very high, but I promised the prime minister we will do our very, very best to prioritize Japan’s requirements for GPUs,ā€ Huang is quoted as saying. ā€œIn combination with generative AI and Japan’s expertise in manufacturing, the future of robotics could be revolutionized here in Japan.ā€

Japanā€™s NTT, Sakura Internet, NEC, and Softbank are reportedly working with the company to develop AI solutions to automate various processes in their respective companies, something thatā€™s necessary in a country struggling with a chronic labor shortage.
