According to a source familiar with the matter, Apple is in the final stages of negotiating a deal with OpenAI. The Cupertino-based company wants to use ChatGPT to power up some of its AI-related features in the upcoming iOS 18.

Still, the source says the two firms aren’t in a hurry to announce the deal officially just yet. Earlier reports claim that Apple is in talks with Google to use it’s AI-powered Gemini chatbot as well. So, the smartphone maker might still be exploring other options.
