This blog post introduces the features of the SAP Analytics Cloud 2024.12 release available for SAP Analytics Cloud FastTrack customers. For SAP Analytics Cloud Quarterly Release Cycle (QRC) customers, this release and its features will be available as part of the QRC Q3 2024 release. View the QRC release schedule here.
System Administration and Technical Requirements
Although not required, you may upgrade to the latest SAP Analytics Cloud agent version 1.0.407 to take advantage of all data acquisition types.
The agent’s minimum version remains at 1.0.75, with the following exceptions:
Version 1.0.99 for SAP ERP/SQL DatabaseVersion 1.0.365 for SAP universe (UNX). The SAP Analytics Cloud agent requires additional setup steps, for more details see SAP Note 3262098Version 1.0.353 for SAP Business Warehouse (BW)Version 1.0.235 for SAP HANA ViewVersion 1.0.248 for File Server

Please download the latest version of the Simple Deployment Kit from Software Center.
Note: To avoid downloading older versions and potentially exposing users to a vulnerable bundling of the Cloud Connector with SAPJVM, or Apache Tomcat, only the three latest versions of the kits are available to download.

Feature Category Naming Update
Before we dive in, you may have noticed a new feature category listed in the road map, and product plan. We have renamed “Augmented Analytics” as “AI for Planning and Analytics”.

Tenant Links Tab Update
Administrators can configure a link between their SAP Analytics Cloud tenant and SAP Datasphere tenant. This configuration was previously on the “System Configuration” tab of the System / Administration page. This has now been moved to a new tab named “Tenant Links” on the same page. It was moved to highlight this feature and to provide room for future similar configurations. Among other connections this configuration will setup the App Switcher at the top right corner of SAP Analytics Cloud allowing end users to quickly link to other related products like SAP Datasphere.

Apply default color palette to Table in Cell Charts
In optimized story experience, the default color palette users can select for charts in the Theme Preferences is now also available to in-cell charts in tables. The bar or column charts in table cells are displayed in the first color of the selected palette. If you select a different color in the table builder panel, that color is used and any changes to the default color palette aren’t applied to the in-cell charts of this table.

Custom Widget Enhancement: Incoporation of Unbooked Data
Story designers can now show or hide unbooked data in custom widgets.
Apply Scaled Measures across All Included Pages in PDF/PPTX Exporting
When exporting a story to a PDF to PPTX file, story viewers can now select Apply Scaled Measures Across All Included Pages so that the chart measures have the same scale across pages in the exported file. The option is off by default and only available when there is an active measure that is part of Chart Scaling.
