Having Ubuntu Official support for RISC-V mass-produced consumer electronic devices like laptops, instead of development boards, is a major step for RISC-V to succeed as an open standard and open source project. In this talk, Gordan Markus (Director, Silicon Alliance at Canonical) and Yuning Liang (Founder of Deepcomputing) runs through how Canonical and Deppcomputing work together to ensure that Ubuntu Desktop 24.04 runs on DeepComputing-produced ROMA series laptop and pads.
About the speakers
Gordan Markus is Director of Silicon Alliance at Canonical. He has an MSc in Electronic and Computer Engineering.
Yuning Liang is the Founder of Deepcomputing. He has a strong hands-on background in embedded systems, platform APIs, and computer vision (AI) and has led teams within startups and Fortune 500 companies.
