Symptom – When you create a characteristics copying another characteristics e.g. 0MATERIAL and try to activate the same you receive the error “DataStore object created for another characteristic and cannot be used“
Cause – The following setting of the source infoobject is the root cause, where a DSO is created for unit conversion in materials in extended section as shown below.
Solution – If you want to use the conversion in the copied infoobject, create a new Datastore object else deactivate this extended setting by clicking on pencil icon as shown below and then activate the
