NASA’s Northrop Grumman Commercial Resupply Services 23 Rendezvous and Capture

​ Northrop Grumman’s CRS-23 mission to the International Space Station is arriving filled with cargo, science, and supplies. The uncrewed mission launched from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida on Sunday, Sept. 14, carried by a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. The crew aboard the station is scheduled to capture the spacecraft via robotic arm at approximately 7:18 a.m. EDT (1118 UTC).

After the Cygnus XL spacecraft is captured, the station’s robotic arm will guide it to a port on the station for installation. Installation coverage begins at 8:25 a.m. EDT (1225 UTC).

Scientific investigations traveling in the spacecraft include tests to refine semiconductor crystals for next-generation technologies, studies of how microgravity affects UV light’s ability to prevent biofilm production, and cryogenic fuel conservation techniques.
