Apple’s foldable iPhone is rumored to arrive as early as next year, and while we obviously can’t go hands-on with the real thing yet, this might be the closest early look we’re going to get. Based on recent leaks and reports, I 3D printed a full-scale foldable iPhone mockup to see how Apple’s rumored design actually feels in the hand.
This prototype is based on reports claiming a roughly 5.4-inch outer display and a near 7.7-inch inner display with a wider, more iPad-like aspect ratio when unfolded. That design choice could put Apple closer to the original Google Pixel Fold approach rather than the tall and narrow style used by Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold lineup.
In this video, we break down the rumored materials, hinge design, display crease claims, camera layout, Touch ID side button rumors, and what Apple could do on the software side to make a foldable iPhone actually worth buying. Analysts like Ming-Chi Kuo believe Apple may have solved one of the biggest foldable problems yet: the display crease.
With pricing rumored anywhere from $1,800 to over $2,400, this could become Apple’s most expensive iPhone ever. The big question is whether Apple can justify that price with hardware durability and a software experience that feels truly next-gen.
As always, take everything here with a grain of salt, but if these rumors are accurate, Apple’s first foldable iPhone could look a lot like this.
