Symptom: You see the following message when you go to “Portfolio & Products” section from Dashboards in SAP for Me to get access to the SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC) card: “No authorization. You are missing authorizations for your eligible product packages. Make sure that you have either Display Cloud Data or Edit Cloud Data authorization for the installation number of each product package.”
Requirements: You need to be a Cloud or Super Admin in SAP for Me.ย
Resolution:ย A) Find out your installation name and number and B) Proceed with the authorization task.ย
A) Find out your installation name and number:
1. Open this link (“Business Data Cloud” page in “Portfolio & Products“).ย
2. Click on the line “SAP Business Data Cloud“.ย
3. Go to “Systems” tab and check the second column, “Installation“. There is an installation name and number. In this example, the installation name is “SAP Cloud Generic”, and the installation number starts with 9.
4. Save this installation name and number for the next step.ย

B) Proceed with the authorization task:
1. Open this link (“S-User Management” page from SAP for Me).
2. Search for the user name you want to provide access to.
3. Click on the user line.
4. Go to the “Authorizations” section, then click to edit it.
5. Go to “Cloud” section and check the boxes for both options, “Display Cloud Data” and “Edit Cloud Data“.
6. Open the installations and make sure you are assigned to the one related to BDC. In this example, the user doesn’t have the installation attached.ย
7. Click on the “+” sign.
8. Select the installation name and number from SAP BDC, then click “Ok“.ย
9. Goo back to the authorizations page, scroll up to the title “Authorizations“, and click “Save“.ย
10. A pop up will appear: “Authorizations were updated successfully“.ย
