This demonstration provides a brief overview of the “AMD MicroBlaze™ V Soft Processor Implementation on the SCU35 Evaluation Board.”
In this walkthrough, you will explore the AMD MicroBlaze™ V soft processor and implement a complete embedded processing system on the AMD Spartan™ UltraScale+™ SCU35 Evaluation Kit. You will configure and generate the hardware design using the AMD Vivado™ Design Suite, export the hardware platform, create and build a standalone software application using the AMD Vitis™ Unified IDE, generate the device image, and finally run and validate the application on the SCU35 target hardware using JTAG boot mode.
The AMD MicroBlaze™ V processor is a 32-bit RISC‑V–based soft processor implemented in programmable logic, offering a license‑free, open‑standards embedded processing solution for AMD FPGAs and adaptive SoCs. With configurable RISC‑V extensions and flexible architectural presets, MicroBlaze V enables designers to optimize for area, performance, or real‑time determinism while integrating seamlessly with the Vivado and Vitis development workflow.
The SCU35 evaluation board serves as a compact, high‑I/O, low‑power hardware platform for implementing and validating MicroBlaze™ V–based designs in real‑world scenarios. Built around the Spartan UltraScale+ XCSU35P device, the board provides an ideal environment for rapid prototyping, hardware–software co‑design, and embedded application development targeting industrial, medical, and other high‑reliability sectors.
