ABAP Developer Challenge – Joule for Developers using Basic Trial

Let’s kick off this year’s Developer Challenge with a topic close to home: ABAP.

With AI dominating conversations across the tech world, we thought it would be exciting for our community to explore Joule for Developers this month.

SAP Joule for Developers brings embedded AI capabilities to SAP Build and ABAP, delivered through Joule. It helps accelerate the development of apps and extensions, reduce development costs, and enhance overall developer productivity and proficiency.

SAP Joule for Developers is engineered for ABAP excellence by

Leveraging SAP’s ABAP large language model trained on enterprise-grade code.Generating data models, app logic, and unit tests with precision.Migrating custom ABAP code faster with documentation chat, code explanation, and issue diagnostics.

The Challenge:

  For this challenge we will be using Basic Trial offering for SAP Build that includes a SAP BTP ABAP Environment with Joule for Developers. During the first week we will focus on setting up the ABAP instance from the Basic Trial in ADT and then will explore some of the key functionalities of Joule for Developers.

How to Participate:

To participate in and complete this challenge, simply follow these steps:

Complete the challenge assigned for each week.Create a package with your community ID in the format mentioned in the Week1 challenge.Post your package name in the thread for each week.We will review your work inside the package with your community ID.

Challenge Timeline

The challenge will span for 4 weeks starting on Monday March 2nd 2026 and ending on March 23rd 2026. We will keep the challenge open till the end of the month to accomodate anyone who is running late 🙂. To count towards the overall monthly challenge, you must complete and submit each week’s task. Make sure to revisit this blog post to discover the upcoming week’s challenge!
