Focused Build SP14: Enhancements in Generic application

Estimated read time 4 min read

Introduction

With the recent release of Focused Build SP14, I’m excited to share details about two enhancements made to its generic application. For a detailed overview of all the improvements across different areas of SAP Focused Build, please refer this blog.

1. Enhanced Document Search

In the generic application of Focused Build, we have addressed a key limitation concerning document search. Previously, only the first 100 documents were displayed by default. If the document you were searching for was not among these, you would face difficulty finding it without adjusting settings or using other applications. Now, although the display still lists 100 records, our improved search functionality ensures that documents beyond the initial 100 are accessible, provided they meet additional filter criteria.

Let me illustrate this improvement with an example where I set the default maximum hits to 5. Fig 1: Max Results Filter

Now, My Work Packages display these 5 records.

But I have more work packages assigned to me and need to search for a specific one, I can do so directly without needing to adjust the maximum hits.

This enhanced search capability allows searches by ID or description seamlessly.

2. New Filter ‘Replaced by Me’ in ‘My Defects’ App for Substitute of Reporter

Following SAP Note 1256661 on Work Center Substitution in Incident Management, where substitutes are defined to replace reporters during their absence using the ‘Replaces’ category in transaction BP, we’ve introduced a new feature in the My Defects Application.

This feature enables users acting as substitutes to filter and quickly access defect lists of the reporters they replace during their absence. It streamlines defect management by ensuring substitutes can efficiently handle and process defects on behalf of absent reporters
